Will a ring really define The King?

Lebron James currently plays for the Miami Heat but drafted in 2003 by the Cleveland Cavaliers.  Lebron was a starter his freshman year at St. Vincent-St. Mary's and led his highschool basketball team to 3 state championships. he averaged 21 pionts and 6 rebounds as a freshman, 25 pionts 7 rebounds 6 assists and 4 steals a game as a sophomore and named Ohios Mr. Basketball and first sophomore on the All USA First Team , He averaged 29.0 points, 8.3 rebounds, 5.7 assists and 3.3 steals his junior year and Ohios Mr. Basketball again, and again on the USA Team and named national player of the year where the nickname King James first came, James averaged 31.6 points, 9.6 rebounds, 4.6 assists and 3.4 steals on his senior season once again put on the All USA First Team roster and Ohios Mr. Basketball.  James finished his high school career with 2,657 points, 892 rebounds and 523 assists.

His Rookie Year he averaged 20.9 points, 5.9 assists, and 5.5 rebounds per game for the season.  He won Rookie of the year becoming the youngest player and first Cavalier to win it.  That year he also became the youngest player to scored at least 40 points in a game.  They however did not make the playoffs.  2004-2005 season was selected for the all star game, youngest player to record a triple double ( double stats in rebounding, points, and steals) He averaged 27.2 points, 7.2 assists, 7.4 rebounds, and 2.2 steals per game that season and again didn't make playoffs. 2005-2006 Selected second straight time for All Star game, became the youngest All Star MVP at age 21,  For the season, James averaged 31.4 points, 7.0 rebounds, and 6.6 assists per game and became the youngest to average 30 points a season and became the 4th player in history to score 30 pionts a game.  Also finished second in for the MVP award.  They lost in the second rounds of the playoffs that year but became 3rd player to record a triple double in his playoff debut.  2006-2007 third straight All Star appearance, James averaged 27.3 points, 6.7 rebounds, 6.0 assists, and 1.6 steals per game second player in history to average that much for 3 straight years.  led the Cavaliers to their first sweep (elimenate a team in 4 games) in a playoff game, Broke Record franchise in pionts with 48 and they won the Eastern Conference title but were sweeped for the title by the spurs.  2007-2008 recorded his 4th All Star appearance, All Star MVP, 3rd youngest player to post 15 triple doubles in career, James became the youngest player to reach 10,000 points at age 23, also 9th fastest to reach 10,000 points, 3rd player since the NBA merge to score 50 points in a game, Became Clevelands all time scorer as well, elimenated second round in playoffs.  2008-2009 won player of month 4 times second to do so, 4th player in history to lead his team in all stats, third player in history to average 30 points 10 rebounds and 7 assist in a postgame, Became first Cavalier to win the NBA MVP award, first time named NBA all defensive team. 2009-2010 6th consecutive All Star selection, youngest player to score 15,000 regular season points, James also won his second NBA MVP award the tenth player to do so, elimenated in semifinals and boo'd off the court in his final game as a Cavalier.

In 2010 Lebron James finally became a free agent and chose to go to the Miami Heat which was dubbed the Decision and where he, Wade, and Bosh became known as the Big 3, He also changed his number from 23 to 6 in respect to Jordan.  Cleveland became bitter at Lebron for leaving they called it betrayel and even took the massive sized witness poster off the building.  While NBA owner of the Cavaliers gareented a championship before Lebron got one.  in the 2010-2011 Lebron borke the record for first quater pionts with 23, Lebron and Wade broke the record for most pionts scored by a duo with 4,052 points, lost in 6 games in the finals, James has averaged 27.7 points, 7.0 assists and 7.1 rebounds. Lebron also has 34 triple doubles in his career.

Lebron in 2004 played for the olympic team, 2006 in the FIBA world championship and was named a team captain, 2008 played for the olympic team,

So to the question will a ring really define The King? Absolutely not Lebron has definitly left his mark in the NBA so far breaking multiple records along the way he is even still in the prime of his career.  Lebron has defined himself as a great without a title so far and will do so even if he never gets one.  Not even a role reduction in Miami will not come close to denting Lebrons armor as a NBA great.  Alot of people who don't like Lebron is because of his decision to leave Cleveland or because people claim his to be "better then Jordan"  even without a title.  Many players have rings and simply sat on the bench or played a minute of the game and do not truely deserve a ring even i could sit down on the bench and watch my team win the championship and wear a ring i didn't deserve.  Over time though many NBA great haven't won a title and still are hall of famers such a Stockton and Malone the dynamic duo of the Utah  Jazz back in the 90's who were also quoted "the Batman and Robin of their time".  Shawn "Reign Man" Kemp of the Seattle Supersonics, George "Iceman" Gervin, Allen Iverson, Pete "Pistol" Maravich, Steve Nash, Reggie Miller (was all time 3 point scorer until last year), Patrick Ewing, and Charlies Barkley.  All these players left their marks in basketball history weather they are hall of famers, future hall of famers, record holders, ex-record holders, or even future record holders they all have one thing in common they never had a championship but will forever be remembered in basketball.  So a "ring for the king" is not needed because a championship holder or not nobody can deny that Lebron will forever be a game changer and NBA future great.
